This website and its components have been designed by Ruth Wilson, a former Bible quizzer and Bible Quiz coach.  I began thinking about designing software to help improve Bible Quizzing in 2000 while coaching a Junior Bible Quiz team for the first time.  I created a few Excel spreadsheets to help keep track of statistics on my own quizzers, and actually began programming software to keep electronic score during a game.  For various personal reasons, I set aside the programming work later that same year.

In early 2007, I again desired to develop computer software to help with Bible Quizzing.  This time, though, I decided to focus my development on software and services to help Bible Quiz coordinators provide efficient and fair Bible Quiz tournaments.  I have quizzed or coached in four different districts and have noted that the tournaments varied greatly by district in terms of matrix forms used.  Not all of the matrix forms were fair and balanced.  My desire for fairness has led to the development of the BQTournament Software application.  It is my hope that the matrices generated by this software will become "the standard" and widely used at Bible Quiz tournaments nationwide. I also finished developing electronic scorekeeping so that detailed statistics could be gathered on quizzers.

This website where tournament results can be posted is a direct product of my interest in Bible Quizzing statistics as a coach.  I also thought it would be great to have a single website where anyone interested in Bible Quizzing can go to see what is happening around North America in Bible Quizzing.

I count it a privilege to be able to use my skills and training to be of benefit to the Bible Quizzing community.
